Behind the Books: The Business Doesn’t Stop - And Neither Does Life
A founder check-in from the messy middle of Google Ads, growth decisions, and a very human summer
Right now, I’m knee-deep in Google Ads, testing landing pages, prepping extended returns, and praying through the possibility of acquiring another business.
It’s a lot.
But it’s also exactly where I’m supposed to be.
My staff is rotating through well-earned summer vacations (as they should!), CE is off my plate until August, and our family calendar is in full swing. There’s baseball, backyard dinners, and lots of “pause the laptop” moments that are reminding me what it means to hold space for both hustle and home.
And somewhere in the middle of all that?
I’m still second-guessing myself.
Still wondering, “Who am I to take on more?”
Still navigating the imposter syndrome that shows up any time a new door opens.
But this is the tension we live in as business owners.
The business doesn’t stop - and neither does life.
Here’s what I’m learning in this season:
🧠 Your brain will try to talk you out of big decisions before your spirit ever gets a chance to weigh in.
🗓️ You can hold space for business growth and family life, but only if you’re honest about your limits.
👩💻 Progress doesn’t always look like clean checklists. Sometimes it’s messy meetings, late nights, and asking for help.
📣 And sometimes, what feels like too much is actually proof that you’re ready for what’s next.
A note to my readers:
If you’re in your own version of the middle - juggling growth, rest, family, and maybe even some fears - just know this: you're not behind. You're becoming.
Summer has a way of revealing what matters. For me, it’s people first, even when business is busy. And when the doubts creep in, I remind myself: you don’t get handed big decisions unless you’re ready to carry them.
Thanks for sticking with me through the chaos and clarity.
I’ll keep showing up here with the real stuff
because that’s what Behind the Books is all about.
More soon,
Tajni
If you’re walking through your own version of “too much” just know that you’re not alone. I’ll keep sharing the behind-the-scenes here, the real stories behind running a firm, growing a team, and making space for both business and life.
